If you are new to model trains perhaps we can whet your whistle a little and peak your intrest in model trains. First we have a few pages with some articles about train layouts and how to begin with building your own layout. Layouts can be simple or very involved depending on what you want or how much money you have.I have always planned how i wanted it to look and think of a theme and just build it slowly so i can put my money in it a little at a time. That way you don't have to have a lot of money to start with and you can go at your own pace. First you want to figure what kind of train or trains you want on your train layout like a collector train or old style train from the 1800's ,freight ,passenger or a combination of the two.
